Walnut & walnut veneer Sheraton cylinder desk patterned after a piece in the Winterthur collection. There is a drawing of this design in Thomas Sheraton's drawing book. The roll-top is a veneered section of a solid cylinder, connected to the writing slide with a lever mechanism hidden in the sides. When the top goes up, the writing surface slides out. Authentic brasses are made from original dies from the period. Shop dog Rusty served as the model for the carved paw feet.
